Honoring 14th Young Poinsettia and Calligraphy National Contest 2015-2016
In the morning of 22/04/2016, the 14th Young Poinsettia Festival’s Final Round and “Net chu – Net nguoi” (“Handwriting – Human streak”) Calligraphy National Contest 2015-2016 took place at Temple of Literature, Hanoi. Mr. Nguyen Phu Truong – Member of Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of Team – Central Committee, Mr. Nguyen Duc Huu - Deputy Director of Primary Education, Dr. Tran Quang Dao – Editorial Director of Nhi dong Newspaper, Mr. Truong Quang Luyen – Board Chairman, General Director of Hong Ha Stationery Joint Stock Company and representatives of press agencies, teachers, parents and students attended the Festival’s Final round. This is the annual knowledge festival for primary students throughout the country organized by the Nhi dong Newspaper and the Hong Ha Stationery Joint Stock Company.
Passing elimination round, 162 contestants of grade 2,3,4,5 coming from 17 provinces and cities throughout the country were present at Temple of Literature to attend the Young Poinsettia Contest with 93 contestants and Calligraphy Contest with 69 contestants. They are the elite students selected by the Organization Board from preliminary rounds on Nhi dong cham hoc Newspaper and launching ceremonies in Quang Binh, Ninh Binh, Hoa Binh and Hanoi.
From 6 am, the contestants from all parts of the country gathered to ready for the contest. They were all excited with the hope of winning the top prize at the Final Round. After the incense-offering ceremony, the contestants participating the Young Poinsettia Contest would take the contest in order of 3 subjects: Vietnamese, Math and Social Nature (or Science) within 55 minutes, the contestants with the highest scores would continue participating in the implementation of conduct to pick out the persons winning the First prize, Second prize and Third prize. The contestants participating in the “Net chu – Net nguoi” (“Handwriting – Human Streak”) Calligraphy Contest take the test within 20 minutes. Heavy summer rain does not diminish exuberant atmosphere of the contestants, teachers and parents coming for attending and cheerleading the Festival’s Final Round.
At the end of the Festival, the Organization Board and the Sponsor – Hong Ha Stationery Joint Stock Company awarded 4 First prizes, 16 Second prizes, 24 Third prizes and 49 Fourth prizes for the students at the Young Poinsettia Contest; 4 First prizes, 12 Second prizes, 16 Third prizes and 34 Consolation prizes for the students at the “Net chu – Net nguoi” (“Handwriting – Human Streak”) Calligraphy Contest.
At the “Young Poinsettia” Contest, the title “Poinsettia” of 4 grades belonged to:
- Trinh The An, class 5E, Le Hong Phong Primary School (Thai Binh)
- Tran Duc Phat, class 4E, Nguyen Luong Bang Primary School (Hai Duong)
- Hoang Xuan Bach, class 3A1, Le Van Tam Primary School (Hanoi)
- Hoang Vuong Khanh Linh, class 3C, Nam Tu Liem Primary School (Hanoi)
And the First prizes of the “Net chu – Net nguoi” (“Handwriting – Human Streak”) Calligraphy Contest belonged to:
- Vu Ngoc Anh Thu, class 2B, Le Huu Tuu Primary School, Hanoi
- Nguyen An An, class 3A3, Ly Thuong Kiet Primary School, Dong Da District, Hanoi
- Cao My Duyen, class 4D, Nguyen Trai Primary School, Hai Duong
- Pham Minh Anh, class 5, Tran Cao Van Primary School, Da Nang
